Introducing Jazinae Patterson,

the 2015 Minnesota Youth of the Year!

Jazinae Patterson, a 16 year old Club member from Southside Village Club is the 2015 Minnesota Youth of the Year. Jazinae is a junior at Washburn High School and has been a Club member since the age of nine. She joined Southside Village Club just two years after her mother passed away from sickle cell anemia. She felt lost and was struggling to find purpose for her life. Having never known her father, she relied on her grandmother and cousins for family support. She credits the Boys & Girls Club with helping her to be able to overcome these obstacles and succeed. Her goal after high school is to attend the University of Minnesota and study child psychology.

"At the Boys & Girls Clubs they believe that all children deserve the opportunity to succeed. They believe that all children, no matter what their circumstances, can have a great future.”

– Jazinae Patterson
